In the spring of 1998 AHS created Meridian Mobile Health LLC and purchased Capital Ambulance, a progressive and innovative paramedic ambulance service. Capital has been providing prehospital emergency response and medical transportation to residents and medical facilities in the greater Bangor-Brewer since 1989. More than just an ambulance service, Capital, and now Meridian, sets the pace for delivery of medical transportation services. Higher standards for its personnel- As an example of our commitment to excellent patient care, MMH requires additional training for its personnel in the areas of emergency vehicle driving, cardiac care, trauma care, and pediatric/newborn care.

Meridian Mobile Health, LLC. is a member of Affiliated Healthcare Systems (AHS), established in 1982 as a subsidiary of EMHS. EMHS members bring unique qualities, skills, and resources to other EMHS members, helping the whole become stronger.

COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE

Critical Care Transport- An outgrowth of the neonatal transport program, we have instituted a CCT program to go pick up gravely ill or injured patients and bring them back to a facility where they can receive the advanced care that they need. This specially trained team, made up of a Nurse, a paramedic, and an EMT, can provide specialized care for the patient during the transport. Our paramedics are nationally certified as CCT paramedics, and double as flight paramedics for the Lifeflight of Maine helicopter service.
